In 1942, Britain's Royal Air Force saw the need for a good long-range fighter...but it was the Royal Navy which picked up the Fury and introduced it to their Air Fleet in 1948. Christened "Sea Fury," it proved a capable warrior, and in 1949 set a speed record flying from London to Rome. No surprise, then, that the former warbird is often seen today at such events as the Reno Air Races—which in 1999 featured eight Sea Fury contenders.

The hand-laid, gel-coated fiberglass cowl is strong, lightweight, and a good example of the quality found throughout this kit. Top Flite also includes many easy-to-install ABS details—radiator scoop, wing blisters, landing gear doors.

The Sea Fury's wing features fully interlocking, lock-and-tab construction for fast, easy assembly. The wing fairing is built up for a perfect fit, and the all-balsa exterior offers an ideal surface for finishing.
